| Started in 1993, every year this puja is organised by the local residents of Sheikh Sarai - II and Chirag Dilli. A unique feature of this puja is that a major section of the organisers — mostly from in and around Calcutta — are temporary residents of these localities. |
| Like previous years, a small but attractive suite of cultural competitions and programmes - packed with singers and instrumental artistes from Calcutta and Delhi - are on the cards. |
| A major attraction will be the vocal performance of Neel Bondoray on MahaSaptami (September 28 at 9:30 pm). |
| The female members of the committee organise a variety of cultural contest including poems, sit and draw, fancy dress, cooking, conch blowing, and musical chair. A good number of participants — from two-year-young kids up to 40-year-old veterans — compete in these contests. |
| The puja is quite famous among the nearby localities including Pushp Vihar, Madangir, Saket, Malviya Nagar, Soami Nagar, Panchsheel Park, Panchsheel Enclave, Krishi Vihar and Chirag Enclave. |
