| Started in 1970, over the years this has become one of the top 10 Durga Pujas of Calcutta (according to the "Asian Pants Sharad Samman Award" committee). The ingenuity and excellence of Sandhani's presentation draws a thick crowd from in and around Calcutta. |
| This year's mandap resembles an impressive temple architecture. The outer facade has twists and turns duly heightened by geometrical variations of forms. Motifs made of oyster shells, palm leaves and other materials have been superimposed on the walls and the ceiling to make it even more attractive. |
| The lighting comprises a combination of mechanical and automatic systems, presenting a vivid picture covering important topics, incidents and personalities of this year. The sprawling frontage area is decorated by water fountain, landscapes and artificial greenery. |
| This year's cultural programmes are focussed on folk songs and dance recitals by performers from different parts of West Bengal. |
