| Way back in 1971, a small group of Bengali youths came forward to form this club. Eventually, in the same year, they started this puja under the guidance of the then veterans. |
| Today it’s one of the biggest pujas in Delhi. Visitors in thousands throng here during all the four puja days to get a glimpse of the colourful mandap and the deity in particular which is claimed to be among the top five in Delhi. |
| In addition to a wonderful mandap, this year’s protima is designed by Shri Shashi Kumar Malakar, a national award winner for his great sculptors on Durga. The puja also bagged the award for the best protima in Delhi in 1979 and 1991. |
| One of the biggest attraction of this puja is its packed house, star-studded cultural evenings. Renowned vocalists, instrumental experts and playwrights from Delhi as well as Calcutta perform here every year. |
| This year’s major performers include Shri Anup Ghosal, Ms Indrani Halder (best actress award winner for the famous Bengali movie Dahan), and Shri Pannalal Ghosh among others. |
